Canal Street

Canal Street was first held in 1996 and it is one of Norway’s most popular music festivals in the summer. The festival has its roots in both jazz and blues music and is known for spreading out its concerts in venues all around the town centre in Arendal and on nearby islands.

Over the years, concerts have been held at little Torungen lighthouse, Merdø harbor, Kolbjørnsvik and even at Heftingsdalen, a waste disposal facility!

Canal Street has always delivered a stellar line-up of both local and international artists and this year is expected to be no different.

Don't miss this year's festival which will take place from 24-27 July.

Arendalsuka

Arendalsuka is an annual national event where Norwegian politicians and leaders in the business community come together in Arendal for one week to participate in conversations regarding democracy and the future of the country.

Some of the more popular issues discussed over the years include those pertaining to education, health, infrastructure, gender equality and the climate. Activities are arranged by the event’s participants to highlight the issues that they would like to discuss.

Arendalsuka was held for the first time in 2012, with 50 events and 30 stands. It has grown tremendously since then and last year, more than 1400 organisers produced more than 1700 events in the city centre of Arendal. Some 200 exhibition stands by various organisations and voluntary associations were seen throughout the city centre.

Arendalsuka 2025 will be held from 11–15 August. The event is free and open to everyone.
