Welcome Hub Agder has teamed up with the Arendal Voksenopplæring (The Arendal Adult Learning Centre), a school that was nominated for the prestigious Queen Sonja School Award, to bring you Norwegian courses at both beginners and intermediate levels.
Your classmates are also likely to be new in Norway so you will have plenty in common and have an opportunity to grow your social circle. What's more, you will be considered for free intermediate courses due to the generous funding we receive from IMDi. *

Our specially curated Norwegian Course for Beginners will provide a comprehensive introduction to the Norwegian language, covering essential vocabulary, grammar, and everyday phrases while integrating important aspects of Norwegian culture, work life, history and traditions.

Arendal Voksenopplæring offers a variety of courses at different levels, needs and schedules. With flexible daytime and evening classes to online courses, there's a class for everyone no matter your skill level or availability.

The Academic Norwegian B2 course is aimed at highly educated immigrants who would like to take their Norwegian proficiency to a B2 level quickly.
The course has 18 hours of teaching per week during the day on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. There are opportunities to get an internship, work or have self-study on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

There are four levels that are used to determine your level of proficiency in the Norwegian language, starting from A1 (the lowest level) to B2. You may also wish to further your study of the language to C1 (higher academic) level.
Currently, you are required to have a minimum B2 level for admission to higher education. This means securing a B2 in all four skills - reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing, and oral communication.
