Driving licence

You are allowed to use your existing driving licence in Norway for a maximum of 3 months if it is still valid and you meet the Norwegian age requirements.

If you've been granted a temporary residence permit of up to 6 months and a valid employment contract, you are allowed to use your existing driving license in Norway for a maximum of 6 months. You will need to carry both the permit and contract when you drive.

If you're planning to live and drive in Norway for a much longer period, then you will need to have a valid Norwegian driving licence. Whether or not you can simply exchange your driving licence for a Norwegian one depends on where your existing licence is issued from.
