Housing

You've found your dream job in Agder and you're ready to start a new phase in your life. You're excited that your family will be joining you too! Now you need to find a home. How do you get started?

While Agder offers a wide range of accommodation options, it can still be a daunting task when you're unfamiliar with the different locations and neighbourhoods, and their proximity to your preferred type of services.

If you're starting your search while still in your home country, then finn.no is your best bet. Finn.no is an online service that allows you to sift through a range of accommodation choices with several search preferences to suit the needs of most people. It will help you make an informed decision on whether  to rent or buy.

While it is possible to approach property agents in Norway for suggestions on what is available for sale, it is important to note that they usually represent sellers and normally recommend listings only from their database. Their contact details are easily found in most home listings on finn.no and in local newspapers.

You can also find rental listings on local Facebook groups. The language used in these groups is normally Norwegian. If you’re up for a challenge (or a crash course in learning Norwegian) then these groups are useful too. We recommend using Google Translate first and enquiring in English afterwards!
